The mission of the Before/After School Care Program is to provide a safe, caring and structured environment for Portsmouth Catholic students before and after school hours. As directed by the Office of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Richmond,Portsmouth Catholic Before/After School Care Program operates under the Virginia Department of Education (DOE). Documentation is filed yearly with the DSS in order to verify compliance with building, health and safety regulations. All staff members complete background checks and VIRTUS training. Orientation and training is required of all staff yearly. Standards require the facility to meet applicable fire, health and building codes. Inspection reports are available in the school office.
Students have the opportunity to play or complete homework. Some students help each other through peer-to-peer tutoring. For your convenience, our extended care begins at 6am and continues until 6pm when school is in session. You can be confident that the same commitment to providing a Catholic Christian environment is present in everything we do at Portsmouth Catholic.
